Structural Engineering
GGP Consult have a wide range of expertise in Structural Engineering of all types of structures, using different materials to the codes and standards of countries across the world.
Braced lattice and partial frames for building and industrial structures form the bulk of our workload, but the design of tanks and silos for the storage of liquids, powders and granular materials is also a common requirement from our customers.
The assessment of loads from wind and snow, stored materials and vehicles (as well as occupants) is a key requirement for our work, in addition to dynamic and seismic analysis.
Drawings are carried out using a number of software tools with finite element design of frames and shells providing the basis for detailing.
Materials used include concrete GRP, timber, steel and other metals.
Inspections of structures for condition-reporting forms a large part of our workload with both visual, 3D and laser drone scanning undertaken.
Reports arising from inspection are used to then develop strengthening, modification and adaptation.
Detailing of structural works takes the form of structural arrangements with reinforcement detailing and scheduling for concrete structures.
Fabrication detailing of steelwork is available using our in-house team of specialists providing component details, assembly and take-off schedules.
